Barbara Markle
Barbara Markle was assistant dean for K-12 Outreach in the College of Education for 20 years. She developed and implemented programs for teachers, administrators and policymakers that translate educational research to application in schools and settings where education policy decisions are made. She also directed several state and federal grants, and worked closely with local school districts, the Michigan Department of Education, the state Board of Education and the state’s professional education associations. A major focus of the Office of K-12 Outreach is developing school turnaround expertise for high poverty, low performing urban schools and districts.
