In the Elementary Teacher Preparation Program at Michigan State University, you will intern and practice teaching in a school. While internships are determined and arranged by the Elementary Teacher Preparation Program, you are able to indicate a preference as to the geographical location in which you would like to intern. The Elementary Teacher Preparation Program offers a diverse array of internship possibilities.
These internship possibilities include opportunities to work in either urban, suburban or rural schools. Such opportunities will enrich your teaching and will be an essential part of your early professional experience. We have a variety of dynamic elementary schools which are affiliated with our Internship Program. In addition, you will have the advantage of working and learning side by side with an experienced classroom teacher and a field instructor, both of whom will help to guide you in your internship program. See below for more details.
