Conversations About Global Education

January 22, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am EST

Join a new effort to foster conversations and connections among those on campus with interests in global/international/comparative education. All faculty, students, staff, etc. in the College of Education and beyond are welcome to attend and participate. Even if your research is primarily U.S.-based, please join us if you have an interest in thinking about issues in education globally. We are defining “global” broadly and hope that these conversations will include a broad range of voices and perspectives.

We’ve planned four meetings this semester and we welcome you all to attend any/all as you are able. Each time we meet, we’ll discuss a short article/report, podcast, or webinar pertaining to global education that is of interest to the group. Even if you’re unable able to listen/read beforehand, please come anyway!

Jan. 22 (Wednesday) 10:00 – 11:00a (+ coffee & snacks offered) | 133G Erickson Hall

We will listen to a 20-minute podcast with Vivien Stewart, author of A World-Class Education: Learning from International Models of Excellence and Innovation. The podcast, in which Stewart discusses the teaching profession, is part of a series of Global Ed Talks recorded by the National Center on Education and the Economy. You can find the podcast here.
