Workshop: Telling Your Story in Writing
October 10, 2019 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm EDT
This workshop is intended for faculty who are interested in getting their research into the public domain beyond conferences and academic journals. This workshop will cover how to work with news media and other outlets to reach wider outlets—helping scholars expand their impact and elevate their reputations as a leader in the field.
College of Education Communications Director Nicole Geary and MSUToday’s Senior Communications Manager Kim Ward will discuss strategies for “telling your story.” The education editor of The Conversation, a communications platform working with researchers to publicize their work, will attend via Zoom and explain opportunities open to MSU Researchers.
College of Education scholars will also share their experiences and suggestions pertaining to communicating with the media:
- Brendan Cantwell (EAD)
- Dan Gould (KIN)
- Katharine Strunk (EPIC and EAD)
Communicating with broader audiences requires different approaches and strategies. Consider joining for another session on this topic on 10/29/19: Working with the Media.
