Nominate a Board Member

Serve on The Board

Interested in Serving the Board?

Alumni Board members serve three-year terms, meet several times annually, and actively engage in committee work. Board members also function as representatives of the College of Education at university-wide and college events, and are responsible for selecting Alumni Board scholarship and award recipients. In addition, the board is currently raising funds to endow multiple Alumni Board Scholarships; meeting with alumni to hear how the college can continue to support them; planning events for fellow alumni; and participating in other special projects both to promote the college and advocate for current students.

Board Responsibilities

Being a member of the board is more than meetings. Members do meet on campus (or via video chat) at least four times annually, hearing from the dean, faculty and students about the college, their research and experiences, and meeting in their individual committees. They serve as representatives of the Alumni Association and the college at university and college events.

Members may also be responsible for selecting award recipients, planning events regionally and in East Lansing to engage other alumni and support current students, and working to promote the college.
