SweetSearch is a search engine for students. It helps students find outstanding information, faster. It enables them to determine the most relevant results from a list of credible resources, and makes it much easier for them to find primary sources. It excludes not only the spam sites that many students could spot, but also the marginal sites that read well and authoritatively, but lack academic or journalistic rigor. As importantly, the very best Web sites that appear on the first page of SweetSearch results are often buried on other search engines. |

Glogster allows students to create posters online that can be made interactive and published. I love this idea because often times many students may have the vision for expression but not the talent or physical ability and this overcomes this barrier. However, a word to the wise…this program is still very basic and they are adding/modifying as we speak. ClipArt and PowerPoint are more user friendly, but not as “hip” as Glogster.
