Announcing a new Hybrid Ed Tech Cohort for Spring 2014 in Saline, MI

In partnership with Saline Area Schools, MAET is very pleased to announce a new, hybrid cohort program in Educational Technology.

In just eighteen weeks, teachers can earn three graduate courses in educational technology which can be taken as MSU’s stand-alone Graduate Certificate in Educational Technology, or applied to the Master’s in Educational Technology degree.

The innovative hybrid format means students get the flexibility of an online course plus opportunities for exciting face-to-face learning with innovative colleagues who live and work in their local communities.

Each course lasts six weeks.

Most learning happens online, but cohort members will also receive two full days of face-to-face instruction per course at Saline High School, in Saline Michigan.

Face-to-face meetings will emphasize collaboration, creation, deep play and discussion. Courses are co-lead by MAET Director, Dr. Leigh Graves Wolf, and Michelle Schira Hagerman, who now leads the MAET Certificate Programs.

Here’s the line-up of courses on offer to Saline Area Hybrid Cohort Students:

CEP 810: Teaching for Understanding with Technology

January 6-February 15, 2014

Face to face meeting dates: Saturday, January 11th and Saturday, February 1

CEP 811: Adapting Innovative Technologies to Education

February 17 – April 5, 2014

Face to face meeting dates: Saturday, February 22 and Saturday, March 22

CEP 812: Applying Educational Technology to Problems of Practice

April 7 – May 17, 2014

Face to face meeting dates: Saturday, April 12 and Saturday, May 3

For students who complete all three courses, a Final, Celebratory Showcase Session will happen on May 18, 2014.
