MAET-BridgeLogoNext Tuesday, December 3, The Master’s in Educational Technology Program is launching its first webinar in a new monthly series meant to highlight innovative ideas, projects and practices for the Ed Tech community. The series, called The Bridge, will feature MAET alumni, faculty and friends. In line with the work we do in MAET, the broad focus of all sessions will be teaching and learning with technologies. All sessions will include practical tips that teaching professionals can use in their daily work with students.
Tech the Halls: Digital Literacies and the Creation of Meaning at the Holidays
Next week, Michelle Schira Hagerman, MAET Academic Specialist, curriculum designer, and instructor will join hosts, Dr. Punya Mishra and doctoral student, Yining Zhang, in a discussion of ways that teachers can support the development of digital literacies in the weeks leading up to the Winter break. She’ll focus on opportunities for digital writing, online inquiry and the integration of understanding across multiple print and digital texts that can serve holiday themes such as giving, thankfulness and reflection, but could be adapted throughout the school year too.  Ideas will align with the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts, History/Social Studies, Science and the Technical Subjects, and reflect current research on digital literacies instruction.
