Over the next two weeks, and in collaboration with The Bridge webinar series, second-year students in the E. Lansing Hybrid Cohort of the Master’s of Arts in Educational Technology Program will be hosting a series webinars focused on issues of importance in Educational Technology. The first in this series of student work will focus on social and ethical uses of technology.
Please join The Bridge webinar series on Tuesday, July 15 from 8-9 pm Eastern Time (that’s starting at 8am Wednesday July 16 in Hong Kong, and 10am in Melbourne, Australia) for a discussion of digital equity and healthy practices in the use of educational technology. This will be a discussion you won’t want to miss, involving a variety of international leaders in the field of social and ethical uses of technology.
Joining The Bridge will be Robyn Treyvaud, a founder of Cyber Safe Kids, a global organization designed to assist educators, parents, and students on what it means to live and work in a digital world. She is recognized internationally for her work in online safety and digital citizenship. We also have Justin Hardman, former director of technology at Hong Kong International School and currently Director at 21CLHK, an educational technology company based in Hong Kong. Also joining us will be Dr. Craig Wilson, Head of School for University of Miami Global Academy and Associate Dean for the Division of Continuing and International Education.
Together with the MAET hosting team of Abby Kuhn, Jeff Pierce, Melissa Bouza, and Yalonda Combs, the conversation will focus on issues of pressing importance regarding digital equity and healthy use of educational technologies. For instance, how can educators take advantage of new technologies without exacerbating other issues? Do these new technologies cause more problems than they solve? What can educators do to shrink the digital divide in a world of ever changing technologies?
