MAET Career Opportunity – Specialist

The nationally ranked, award-winning Educational Psychology and Educational Technology program in the MSU College of Education seeks an organized, detail-oriented, creative, dynamic, forward-thinking educator to join the MAET program leadership team. The Specialist will direct many aspects of the Graduate Certificate programs, and provide support, as needed, to the Master of Arts in Educational Technology program.
These innovative programs prepare teachers to integrate technologies to support student learning in a broad range of educational contexts. To meet the needs of working professionals, the programs are offered in a variety of formats: online, hybrid and face-to-face overseas.
This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations and logistics of graduate certificate programs, including the coordination of instructional staff, student recruitment, program promotion and advertising, research and analysis of program impact, and outreach.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
-Course scheduling, maintenance & preparation for delivery
-Curriculum planning and revision
-Coordination of on-campus summer programming
-Advising of students
-Student recruitment (e.g. responding to program inquiries)
-Program promotion and advertising
-Supervision and mentorship of instructional team
-Program communications and community building (e.g. newsletter, maintaining social media presence)
-Manage accreditation process
Required Degree
Masters – Education, Ed Tech, Digit Med, New Med
Minimum Requirements
Masters degree in Education, Educational Technology, Digital Media, New Media, Digital Writing or related field preferred.
Successful candidates will have experience teaching in a K-12 or higher education environment. They should also be experienced with a wide range of computer software, hardware and social media tools.
Desired Qualifications
Must be familiar with the following technologies:
-D2L and other learning management systems
-WordPress and other open source content management systems
-Google Apps and other cloud-based software
-Online communication tools (Zoom, Google+ Hangouts, etc)
-Web 2.0 applications
-Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, Linked-In, etc.)
-Mobile Applications (iPhone, Android, iPad, etc.)
