This spring, Michigan State University’s new Master of Arts in Learning Experience Design (MALXD) program hosted a two-day sprint series that brought designers from across the country together to learn about the ways social justice, accessibility, AI, and creativity interact with learning experience design. If you weren’t able to attend or are just here to learn, this post shares all of the resources you’ll need to work through the series on your own. Let’s sprint right into the highlights:
Watch our Creativity and LXD session to join participants who sparked their creativity with playful activities and reflections with other designers. We build deeper understandings of creativity frameworks and explore the ways that creativity influences LXD. If this sparks your curiosity, make a copy of the participant notebook (which contains a link to the presentation slides) to work through the workshop independently.
AI is a popular buzzword, but how can AI impact LXD? Watch our AI and LXD session to expand your knowledge of AI terms and processes, help center learners in conversations about AI, and explore AI technologies with a critical and curious lens. If you are curious about AI and LXD, make a copy of the participant notebook (which contains a link to the presentation slides) to work through the workshop independently.
Accessibility is a foundation of LXD. Watch our accessibility session to explore how putting learners first, using informed practices, and positioning accessibility as more than a checklist will set designers up for accessibility success. If you want to set yourself up for the same success, make a copy of the participant notebook (which contains a link to the presentation slides) to work through the workshop independently.
Social justice is the lens that guides MALXD’s approach to LXD. Watch our Social Justice and LXD session to join participants who explored frameworks for design to help create more equitable and inclusive learning spaces, practices, and philosophies. If you want to do this too, make a copy of the participant notebook (which contains a link to the presentation slides) to work through the workshop independently.
