Post-Doctoral Position -University of Michigan – Ann Arbor

Insitu, the Center for Socially Engaged Design has an open postdoctoral position to engage in its launch of a new educational initiative that leverages online learning and face to face consultation and feedback.   To learn more about Insitu, please visit Insitu.engin.umich.edu.
The responsibilities of this position will include developing learning materials for best practices in socially engaged design (such as interviewing stakeholders and customers, planning design ethnography experiences, and synthesizing qualitative data), developing an educational research plan, and collecting and analyzing data on students’ development in socially engaged design skills and ways curriculum can support this development.
Applicants should be passionate about undergraduate education and/or practices related to socially engaged design, have experience developing curriculum materials, and have foundational knowledge in asking educational research questions.
The position is available starting in January 2016 with flexibility in the start date, and will continue for the duration of one year.  Workload will be full time, 40 hours per week with the option to work remotely part-time.  Applicants who have received their PhD in engineering education, anthropology, design, higher education, and related fields are especially encouraged to apply. However, applicants from all disciplines will be considered.
The post-doctoral fellow will be advised by Drs. Shanna Daly and Kathleen Sienko.
