Penn State is actively searching for new faculty colleagues to join its internationally recognized Center for the Study of Higher Education and Graduate Program in Higher Education. Past and future research areas include, but are not limited to: access and diversity issues that impact enrollment in higher education; cost, productivity, and accountability issues impacting higher education institutions; student access and learning outcomes; and global higher education: developing collaborative relationships with other countries to research issues and improve delivery of higher education. The search will be for qualified candidates at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels teaching in the higher education program and conducting research in the Center for the Study of Higher Education. Candidates at the Associate or Full Professor levels could also be eligible for consideration for appointment as Director of the Center.
Responsibilities: teach core courses and advanced seminars to students with interests in higher education; advise master’s and doctoral students; perform nationally and internationally recognized research and scholarship in areas related to higher education; seek external support for research; provide service to the University, profession, and community.
Required Qualifications: earned doctorate in Higher Education or a relevant discipline; evidence of a significant program of research, commensurate with rank; evidence of substantial success in extramural funding, commensurate with rank; evidence of excellence in teaching and advising including the use of information technology, commensurate with rank; evidence of a commitment to working collegially, collaboratively, and with individuals from diverse backgrounds, commensurate with rank.
