Position:  Founding director of PhD program in Interdisciplinary Leadership Studies, a newly implemented doctoral program coordinated out of the Graduate School at the University of Central Arkansas. This interdisciplinary program will initially have tracks in educational leadership (k-12 schools and higher education) and government/non-profit or public administration. This is a 12-month administrative position with teaching and research expectations; Associate Professor or Professor faculty rank with appointment in candidate’s home discipline.

Responsibilities:  Coordinating all aspects of the Interdisciplinary Leadership Studies program, including curriculum oversight, course scheduling, program marketing, recruiting and advising students, coordinating faculty teaching assignments, facilitating the development and mentoring of program faculty, and general oversight of program implementation and evaluation.  Faculty responsibilities for teaching, scholarship, and service are also expected.

Qualifications:  Hold an earned doctorate in leadership as a discipline or a similarly appropriate field; be qualified for tenured appointment at the rank of associate or full professor; possess a strong record of teaching, sustained professional achievement and scholarship, university-community relations, and faculty experience in supervising doctoral study, with preference given to candidates with experience coordinating leadership doctoral programs. The position demands excellent communication skills, the ability to foster and support scholarly activity, effective academic leadership skills, and an understanding of the discipline of leadership.
