Assistant Director for First and Second-Year Programs
The Assistant Director for First and Second-Year Programs coordinates  programming for prospective, first and second-year students to have a positive impact on matriculation, transition to college, retention, and the academic and co-curricular success of students of color.   Programs under this Assistant Director’s charge include the Third World Transition Program, Minority Peer Counselors, and the ALANA Mentoring Program.

Assistant Director for Co-Curricular Initiatives
The Assistant Director for Co-Curricular Initiatives coordinates programming and leadership development for historically underrepresented students and their organizations, oversees the heritage series of the Third World Center, and collaborates with the Office of the Vice President for Campus Life to provide program support to designated student communities. Initiatives under this Assistant Director’s charge include experiential learning programs, student of color initiatives, and First-Generation College Student programs.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in a relevant field strongly preferred. Two to three years directly-related experience in a college environment required, including college student-run program management and coordination experience.  Understanding of issues of social justice and demonstrated effectiveness in promoting respect and appreciation for diversity and inclusion among students and staff required. Ability to collaborate and consult with multiple campus constituents, including but not limited to: senior-level administrators, faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends as needed.
