While in Japan this summer, Dr. Riyad Shahjahan, assistant professor, presented talks at the School of Education, Nagoya University (Nagoya, Japan) and the Matsuida International Association (Matsuida-Machi, Japan). On July 31, 2012, Dr. Shahjahan spoke on the role of qualitative research methodology in United States higher education studies and policy at Nagoya University. On August 4, 2012, Dr. Shahjahan spoke on the role of faculty in cross-cultural understanding across national borders at the Matsuida International Association.
