Pamela Roy and Alex Akulli, both HALE Ph.D students, have each received the Donald H. Wulff Diversity Travel Fellowship, sponsored by The Professional and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education (POD).
The fellowship is named after the late Don Wulff, a distinguished scholar and practitioner at the University of Washington, who devoted his life’s energy to contributing through teaching and learning, and by supporting diversity initiatives in faculty development.
The fellowship will support Roy and Akulli’s travel to POD’s annual conference, held October 24-28 in Seattle, Wash., where each will present research findings. Roy’s presentation will focus on her scholarly and practitioner work related to the local, national and international dimensions of faculty and organizational development, as well as the global professoriate. Akulli’s presentation will focus on his scholarly and practitioner work, which is related to foreign-born faculty in the United States, and U.S.-based faculty leading programs abroad. He is also the director of international programs at Lynchburg College in Virginia.
