On Thursday, April 24, 2014, Dr. Patricia (Pat) Enos was one of the four recipients of East Lansing’s annual Crystal Awards.  The Crystal Awards honor individuals, businesses, professionals, non-profits and community groups that have made an outstanding contribution to community life in East Lansing. Crystal Award recipients are dedicated to enhancing the East Lansing community. They demonstrate a passion and commitment to creating a healthy and vibrant community and serve as an inspiration to others.

Pat came to Michigan State University in 1985 as the Assistant Director of Student Life and eventually served as the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs until her retirement in June 2012.  She also served as adjunct faculty for the Master of Arts in Student Affairs Administration program.  Pat has always been a strong supporter of HALE and SAA which led to the creation of the Dr. Patricia B. Enos Award for Outstanding Dedication and Commitment to Mentoring Student Affairs Master Students in 2004.  Pat was the first recipient in honor of her dedication.

In regards to the City of East Lansing, “Pat was a key figure in the development of the Community Relations Coalition and Michigan State University’s Community Liaison, both of which have helped to orient the community and to significantly improve town-gown relationships.  She has provided close to two decades of involvement with the city” (Dawn Parker, The Towne Courier, 2014, May 4).
