Online Learning and Teaching

Instructor: Chin-Hsi Lin (chinhsi@msu.edu)

This course is offered online and runs 5/18/158/20/15

With the rapid development of technology, online learning—for both students and teachers—has become one of the fastest-growing trends in educational technology. More than 7.1 millions of currently enrolled university students and 275,000 K-12 students are taking at least one course online, and new forms of virtual learning ranging from Virtual Schools to Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are raising the specter of radically transformed K-12 and higher education.

This doctoral seminar will provide a comprehensive overview of how different types of online courses impact K-12 and higher education, in terms of both opportunities and challenges. It will consider a wide range of topics related to online education, including policies and administration, learning and learners, and teaching and course design.

The course will be of particular interest to students interested in online learning, educational technology, teacher education, and K-12 and higher education. Class will be taught online. Click here for more information: CEP991A_Flyer_US15
