Working as part of the RD team at Berkeley provides unique opportunities, including facilitating a sponsored, for credit bearing college level course, developing and assessing a Residential Curriculum, working alongside world class Resident Faculty, and the current vacancy includes oversight of our Native American Theme Program.

As a member of the Residential Education team, the (RD) is responsible for the following components in their respective residential area: supervision and training of student staff, community development, student conduct, leadership development, counseling and crisis management, departmental advancement and leadership, and administrative related duties. The RD will supervise between 8-12 student paraprofessional staff members, including a student Theme Program Advisor for the Native American Theme Program. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong multicultural competence, a commitment to and understanding of social justice, experience working with Resident Faculty and a desire to build relationships and work collaboratively with students, staff, faculty, and many other campus and community partners.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education or a related field and previous work in university housing, Experience with crisis management and incident response, Student conduct and commitment to social justice and multicultural competency strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree, strong communication skills required and previous experience in higher education setting are required.
