Department Description:
Student Housing provides a home to over 8,000 UC Davis undergraduate and graduate students. Over 5,000 students reside in the residence halls, most of them in their first year at the university. Almost 1,000 students live in apartments as part of the Student Housing transfer student housing program, and more than 2,000 students live in one of several campus apartments, enjoying the diversity and campus proximity these communities provide

Job Description:

Under general supervision, within a multicultural environment, provide advising to students and staff within the areas of policy enforcement, citizenship development, conflict management and crisis management. Responsible for adjudicating policy violations, determining sanctions and making referrals to other campus units. Represent Student Housing and provide consultation to the campus on matters of policy, citizenship, conduct, student development, staff training, diversity education, transition issues, alcohol and drug prevention and student behavior. 

Qualifications
  • Experience in university level student conduct, adjudication, conflict resolution, mediation, citizenship development and problem solving in a residence hall environment.
  • Knowledge of residence hall environments, and the impact of living-learning communities on student development.
  • Experience in confronting a variety of difficult situations and individuals, and making appropriate referrals for counseling and/or disciplinary action.
  • Knowledge of multi-cultural and student development theories and concepts.
  • Experience working with college level student-related citizenship development (i.e., behavioral issues, roommate concerns, etc).
