Thursday, October 6 – Friday, October 7, 2016 Pierce Cedar Creek Institute, Hastings, MI This academic writing retreat provides a dedicated space and time away from campus for faculty, academic staff, and graduate students to write about their community engaged scholarship, including community-engaged research, service-learning or civic engagement, community-university partnerships, and outreach programs. This two-day, residential retreat includes unstructured time to work on your own writing and optional workshops to strengthen your writing and publishing skills. The four optional sessions include: Fundamentals of Publishing Community Engaged Scholarship, Getting into the Writing Habit, Selecting an Interdisciplinary Community Engagement Journal, and a peer feedback session on your writing.
