AERA’s Division J annual Emerging Scholars Workshop.

As a pre-conference workshop, Emerging Scholars will commence on the morning of Thursday, April 7th and will conclude on Friday, April 8th by noon. Drs. Leslie Gonzales of Michigan State University and James Earl Davis of Temple University will be hosting a twitter chat session with AERA DivJ Grad Students to gather insights about what they would like to see offered on the agenda. During this chat session, they also plan to answer questions about the application process.
Students who have who have advanced to dissertation phase or who have recently graduated are encouraged to  to apply to Emerging Scholars this year. The session will focus on the following issues:  Job Searching and Campus Visits, Teaching Strategies, Moving from Dissertation Project to Research Trajectory, The Publication Process, Academic Freedom (esp. concerning social media), and Moving Research into Policy and Practice Spheres. 
Application
The deadline for applications is February 15th, 2016 and decisions will be announced by February 21st, 2016Please note, priority will be given to: (1) recent graduates and (2) students who are in the dissertation stage.
