Dear Graduate and Graduate Professional Students,
During our March 23rd full council meeting, the Full Council unanimously passed the attached resolution to renew and increase the COGS tax. This referendum is now up for a vote and it is vital that every graduate student has that opportunity to participate before it closes on Sunday, April 10th. Therefore, we urge you vote in favor of the proposed tax increase with the following link (https://login.msu.edu/?App=CL_Elections. The Council of Graduate Students serves approximately 11,000 constituents and this tax revenue is our primary source of operating funds. This year COGS has worked to advocate for the graduate and graduate-professional students of MSU, organized and supported many social and academic events, increased graduate student participation in academic governance, and provided new funding and grant opportunities. Under the proposed tax increase, we can further diversify and improve student access to these opportunities.
