Graduate Assistant-Project Manager, Digital Humanities

Studies in Radicalism Online (“SiRO”: http://www.studiesinradicalism.org/ ), a federation of digital projects in radicalism studies housed at MSU Libraries, and the Graduate Collage are offering a ½ time graduate assistantship for the duties of a part-time project manager beginning summer, 2016. SiRO is a node in the Advanced Research Consortium (ARC), a group that includes NINES, 18th Connect, MESA (Medieval Electronic Scholarly Alliance), and others. The project manager’s primary responsibility will be to facilitate the ingestion of modernist digital projects into the SiRO searchable database. It is preferred that applicants have experience with digital humanities projects, and technical competencies in XML as well as XSLT or a scripting language (such as Python, Ruby, etc.).

In addition to the technical work, the project manager will shepherd projects through peer review by the SiRO board; conduct virtual and physical outreach and publicity (including the making of exhibits, and managing of social media); and communicate with software developers about bug fixes or specific software needs.

Minimum: MA degree

The desired starting date for this assistantship is Summer, 2016, though this may be negotiated to begin Fall semester, 2016.
