We’re currently accepting applications for a COORDINATOR FOR CAMPUS PROGRAMS in the Department of Student Life- part of the Division of Student Affairs at the University of Vermont.
Support, promote and implement a wide variety of social, educational and entertainment programs in the Department of Student Life. Serve as the primary advisor for the UVM Program Board; oversee the planning and execution of student-run events that provide consistent, high quality, inclusive programming. With the Assistant Director for Campus Programs, recruit, select, train and supervise student members for UVM Program Board and Week of Welcome Squad. Support campus-wide programming efforts that meet the University’s social justice and environmental stewardship needs including Week of Welcome, FallFest, SpringFest, Labor Day Comedy Show, WinterFest, and over 50 student-run events per year. Assess student social program needs with attention to the diverse needs of the UVM student body. Negotiate performances and book programs with agents and performers. Coordinate marketing and publicity for events to include social media, print materials, giveaways, and the UVM Bored calendar. Outreach to campus partners, historically underrepresented student populations, off-campus students, student organizations, and community partners. Reports to the Assistant Director for Campus Programs.
Bachelor’s degree and one to three years experience required. Experience with event or program planning and implementation, familiarity with college environment and the schedule/needs of college students required. Effective interpersonal and communication skills required. Basic computer skills and social media skills required. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice, environmental stewardship, and fostering a collaborative, multicultural environment required.
Experience supervising students or past work in higher education environment desirable.
