The department of Residential Education and Housing Services has opened an application process for alternate candidates for our Assistant Community Director position. We are seeking prospective candidates to fill vacancies that will open during the Fall 2018 semester.

Competitive prospective candidates should have the following experiences:

  • Live-in or associated Residence Hall/On-Campus Housing experience.
  • Involvement with student activities/leadership.
  • Demonstrated supervision/management experience.
  • Experience with crisis and/or conflict management.
  • Experience with administrative functions.
  • Experience working with multicultural populations.

Some additional information about the position:

  • Assistant Community Director – We are recruiting an applicant pool in anticipation of vacancies during the Fall 2018 semester.  

The Assistant Community Director (ACD) position is a part-time, live-in graduate assistantship within Residence Education and Housing Services. The ACD role provides many skill building opportunities and experiences in supervision, student leadership advising, crisis response, conduct process facilitation, and curriculum implementation. This position partners with a diverse group of students, staff, and faculty to develop an environment that promotes the mission of the university. ACDs are directly responsible for the training, supervision, and evaluation of student staff members. ACDs work with Community Directors (CDs) to create safe, inclusive, and educational communities that encourage and foster student success and development. ACDs are required to live in an assigned apartment on campus. Compensation includes a fully furnished apartment, silver dining meal plan, complimentary internet and cable, biweekly stipend, and a tuition waiver. This is a half–time graduate assistantship position which requires 20 hours a week and will include weekend and evening hours. This is a 9 month position for Fall and spring semesters.
