Opening a Window into Autism in Higher Education: Research and Reflections in Charting New Horizons
Join us for a virtual seminar with Brett Ranon Nachman, doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
During this seminar, Brett will dive into existent and emerging research on autism in higher education, covering what the literature has addressed on the rise of this student population on college campuses. He will also share findings of some of his recent journal articles, including those that explore the roles of digital campus climate and intersectionality of LGBTQ identities in shaping autistic students’ depictions and experiences, respectively. Throughout, Brett will incorporate opportunities for interactivity with attendees as well as detail how he has navigated this work as an autistic self-advocate.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask Brett questions about the graduate school experience, dissertation writing, and publishing as a graduate student.
