Abstract:

Join us for a highly interactive session on empowering students to begin thinking about tackling the global challenges that impact countries and communities near and far through course and assignment redesign (or transformation). These challenges cannot be solved by a single discipline or department or by campus educators without equitable collaboration with community partners.  This session will introduce guiding principles for global learning and community-based learning that can be integrated into courses and programs. With a goal of deepening student academic and civic learning through well-developed ethical engagement with community partners, participants in this masterclass will focus on connected service-learning experiences with learning outcomes.
