Community Engagement Scholarship Award
Recognizing highly engaged community-based research, creative activity, teaching, and service collaborations that positively impact both the community and scholarship.
Michigan State University invites nominations for the Community Engagement Scholarship Award (CESA), conferred on one scholar and community partner in recoginition of their exemplary engaged partnership that positively impacts both the community and scholarship.
Nominations for CESA may be initiated by students, faculty, administrators, or community partners, and self-nominations are welcome.
The CESA includes a stipend of $5,000, shared equally by the designated MSU representative(s) and the designated community organization(s). Co-recipients will be recognized at the University’s annual Awards Convocation on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.
Four CESA applicants who are selected as finalists in each of the following categories will automatically be named recipients of the MSU Distinguished Partnership Awards (DPA):
Community-engaged research
Community-engaged creative activity
Community-engaged teaching
Community-engaged service
DPA recipients receive a stipend of $1,500, shared between the MSU representative(s) and the designated organization(s). They will be recognized at the MSU Outreach and Engagement Awards Ceremony on Thursday, February, 24, 2022.

Graduate Student Award for Community Engagement Scholarship
Recognizing graduate students who collaborate with communities and the public through their research, creative activity, teaching, or service.

The MSU Graduate Student Award for Community Engagement Scholarship will be conferred upon one graduate or graduate professional student each year for outstanding community-engaged scholarship.
Nominations may be initiated by students, faculty, administrators, or community partners, and self-nominations are welcome.
The recipient will receive a plaque to memorialize the accomplishment and a stipend of $750. The Award recipient will be formally recognized at the annual Michigan State University Outreach and Engagement Awards Ceremony.

Institutional Champion Award for Community Engagement Scholarship
Recognizing and honoring individuals and groups for leadership in institutionalizing community-engaged scholarship and university outreach at Michigan State University.
Michigan State University invites nominations for the Institutional Champion Award for Community Engagement Scholarship, conferred in recognition of exemplary efforts by a university leader, faculty member, faculty team, or initiative to systemically encourage, nurture, and support scholarly community engagement by faculty, staff, and students.
Nominations may be initiated by university leaders, faculty, staff, students, and community partners, and self-nominations are welcome.
One nominee will be selected as the recipient of the Institutional Champion Award for Community Engagement Scholarship each year and will receive a plaque to memorialize the accomplishment and a $1,000 stipend. The Award recipient(s) will be formally recognized at the annual Michigan State University Outreach and Engagement Awards Ceremony.
