Understanding Economic Impact of COVID-19 on Black Women in U.S. Higher Education
The purpose of this study is to examine how (and to what extent) Black women’s economic trajectories via three key constructs – financial obligations, financial support, and financial stability – have been exacerbated by COVID-19.
Who: Black women graduate and professional students enrolled in U.S. institutions, as well as new student affairs/higher education practitioners who have been in the field for one to five years.
What: Voluntary participation will include completion of an online survey that consists of four sets of questions – demographic, financial obligations, financial support, and financial stability. At the completion of the survey, we will offer an option for continued participation via a virtual focus group or a virtual individual interview.
