Alma Maldonado-Maldonado is a researcher at the Department of Educational Research (DIE) of the Center for Research and Advanced Studies (CINVESTAV) of Mexico, located in her hometown, Mexico City. Dr. Maldonado-Maldonado’s research addresses: higher education policy in higher education in Latin America, the role of international organizations in higher education agenda setting, globalization, internationalization and international student mobility. Dr. Maldonado-Maldonado received her doctorate in higher education from Boston College and earned a degree in pedagogy at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Dr. Maldonado-Maldonado was an Assistant Professor in the Center for the Study of Higher Education at the University of Arizona from 2004 until 2009. In 2008 she completed a postdoctoral stay at the Department of Education at the University of Oxford, England.
