Position Description Summary:The Graduate School of Education and Human Development (GSEHD) at The George Washington University is seeking a promising scholar of International Education, to join the faculty in Fall 2022.  
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:Primary responsibilities are to develop and conduct research in education and development in comparative and international education; contribute to the school’s broad scholarly agenda; develop and teach MA and doctoral level classes; help broaden the program’s engagement with researchers, educators, and policy makers in various regions of the world; provide additional leadership to the GW UNESCO Chair in International Education for Development; and provide service to the international education program, department of education leadership, school, and university.

The anticipated position is a 9-month, renewable, tenure-accruing academic year appointment.
Minimum Qualifications:All applicants must have:An earned doctorate by date of appointment (August 1, 2022);Demonstrated scholarship (publications, grants, presentations, etc.);Demonstrated successful teaching experience at the university level; A substantive focus in at least one area relevant to education and development, as demonstrated by academic preparation, experience, and/or research;Evidence of regional expertise and experience (i.e., Latin America, Middle East, Africa, Asia, etc.);Established professional networks in international and/or comparative education organizations, e.g., experience and/or contacts with international organizations, agencies working in the field, ministries of education, international universities, scholars and practitioners; Ability to manage and attract research projects and grants.Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Graduate School of Education and Human Development houses five departments (Curriculum and Pedagogy, Counseling and Human Development, Educational Leadership, Human and Organizational Learning, and Special Education and Disability Studies), and runs programs at the Foggy Bottom campus in Washington, the GW Virginia Science and Technology Campus in Ashburn, Va., and at graduate education centers in Arlington, Alexandria, and Hampton Roads, Va.
