Rueda Latin@, a Latinx graduate student organization housed under the College of Education at Michigan State University (MSU), is currently accepting applications for those interested in participating in our inaugural Rueda Mentoring Program (RMP). As a graduate student-run organization, we recognize the need to support one another, validate and challenge each other’s knowledge, and ensure supportive pathways for undergraduates to professional careers. We are seeking Latinx graduate students interested in serving as mentors and Latinx undergraduate students seeking mentorship from graduate students across MSU.
The mission of the Rueda Latin@ is to assist in producing Latinx scholars and professionals who want to utilize their education in ways that will have a positive impact on the Latinx community as well as society as a whole. The purpose of this organization is to foster collegiality and community; support personal, academic, professional, and programmatic development; and encourage community outreach.
Our vision for the RMP is to empower Michigan State University’s Latinx undergraduate and graduate students by building relationships and providing resources for post-graduate opportunities and employment. Those interested in applying to the RMP as either mentors or mentee should complete this form. The deadline to apply is February 12, 11:59pm EST.
