Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who wants to help drive cultural and institutional change as a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Specialist for Information Services and Technology (IS&T). The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Specialist will collaborate with IS&T departments and partner with BU’s Diversity & Inclusion, Organizational Development & Learning, and Human Resources offices to implement DEI&A initiatives in IS&T. Understanding the priorities in the BU Technology plan and recommendations from IS&T’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion task force, the Specialist will recommend the specific DEI&A initiatives to move forward in IS&T, and have direct responsibility for crafting, coordinating, and managing these initiatives. They will identify where other resources in IS&T are needed to participate in the implementation of initiatives and will seek involvement from the appropriate leadership. They will research practices being adopted in other parts of the University and at peer institutions as inputs into IS&T’s initiatives. A passion for diversity, equity and inclusion is essential!
Option to work up to two days a week remotely from home.

- Bachelors Degree (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of relevant experience with at least 1 year of experience with professional development, diversity, and/or equity; experience working with IT/technical staff preferred
- Awareness of the state of diversity in todays technology workforce
- Knowledge of diversity program development, implementation, and training. Ability to assess the educational impact of diversity programs.
- Knowledge and demonstration of diversity and inclusion standard methodologies. Ability to work cross-functionally with individuals and groups from various identities, cultures, and backgrounds
- Demonstrated facilitation experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
