The University of Wisconsin – La Crosse invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Student Affairs Administration (SAA) in Higher Education (www.uwlax.edu/saa). Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis, with a priority consideration date of April 29, 2022, and an expected start date of August 1, 2022. Find a complete description and apply online at: https://employment.uwlax.edu/postings/13552.

SAA offers online and blended applied graduate programs for those seeking to enter or advance careers in student or academic affairs in higher education. We prepare scholarly practitioners for administrative student-facing and leadership roles, from entry-level academic advisors or hall directors to senior vice presidents of student affairs or equity, diversity, and inclusion. The successful candidate for this tenure-track position will have instructional and advising responsibilities within both the master’s and doctoral programs.

Candidates should bring a depth of professional experience in student or academic affairs in higher education, ideally in non-instructional administrative leadership roles such as director of a student or academic affairs unit or any other leadership role(s) in student affairs, EDI (equity, diversity, and inclusion), academic affairs, enrollment management, or the like. Candidates with experience advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in their professional practice, teaching, and/or scholarship are particularly encouraged to apply.

Graduate faculty have a 3:3 teaching load, and service appointments with course reassignments for Graduate Program Directors and Department Chair rotate between ranked faculty. Additional opportunities for summer instruction, summer program director stipends, and dissertation chairing in-load or over-load also exist.

While most instruction and department service can be done remotely, ranked faculty rotate teaching hybrid courses at the UW La Crosse campus. Most college and university service also requires in-person presence. Relocation stipends are available, and telecommuting agreements may be discussed and reviewed annually.

Questions may be directed to the SAA Department Chair, Dr. Tori Svoboda at tsvoboda@uwlax.edu.
