What is the GRC?
As a community of scholars, HALE graduate students gather each year at the Graduate Research Colloquium (GRC) to present a range of projects to fellow peers, faculty, and prospective HALE graduate students. This year’s GRC is Saturday, February 16, 2019.
How can I get involved?
All HALE graduate students (HALE MA, SAA, and HALE PhD) can submit proposals to present, sign up to volunteer, and register to attend.
Why participate in the GRC?
The GRC serves as an outlet for students to share highlights from their academic and professional development. It also provides an opportunity for students and faculty to support and educate one another, as well as for graduate students to hone their professional presentation skills.
What can I present?
Examples of acceptable presentation proposals include original empirical research, theoretical and analytical pieces, literature reviews, class term papers and projects, dissertation work, etc. Posters are also accepted!
When is the submission deadline?
Please complete all sections of this proposal form by 11:59 pm EST on January 13, 2019.
How will submissions be reviewed, and when will decisions be released?
Proposals will undergo a blind, peer-review process. All proposals will be reviewed by a minimum of two committee members. If there is a discrepancy between reviewers’ ratings, proposals will be reviewed by a third committee member.
Notification of proposal decisions will be made no later than January 25, 2019.
