Summary: The Center for Urban Education (CUE) conducts socially conscious research and creates data, benchmarking and process tools for colleges and universities to produce equity in student outcomes. This project manager position is an essential member of the CUE team who is responsible for managing a major higher education project and other initiatives.

Duties include: working with higher education systems and institutions through a strategy of organizational learning and change to strengthen equity in outcomes for underserved racial/ethnic student groups; developing, coordinating and managing project activities and timelines; designing and implementing project protocols, templates and procedures; assisting with data collection and analysis; engaging higher education practitioners in professional development on student performance data analysis and participatory action research; and preparing reports, briefs, research papers and other materials. The project manager should be familiar with higher education issues; have experience launching new initiatives; be flexible in adapting approaches to local conditions; be able to articulate project goals; and motivate the project team. This position reports to CUE’s executive director, consults with CUE’s co-directors, and interacts with staff, consultants and others.

Qualifications: a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education, public policy or related field; a Master’s or higher degree in similar disciplines is preferred. Three to five years of progressive experience in project planning, implementation and management, supervision of project staff, and collaboration with organizational partners. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Excellent time management with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to prioritize work effectively and adjust to multiple and competing demands. Ability to work in cross-functional, multicultural settings with all levels of an organization and with diverse constituencies.
